1st August,2023 Majlis Ulema Pakistan and the Interfaith Council for Peace and Harmony Organized a protest and condemnation demonstration against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden was held at Badshahi Mosque in Lahore, lead by the Ambassador of Peace Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Pakistan Khatib and Imam Badshahi Masjid Lahore. Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad while addressing the demonstration said that respecting the Holy Quran and all the sacred books and protecting the honour of the Prophets is a part of our faith. Once again, the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden is condemnable, the international community should take strict notice, the Holy Quran is the source of blessings and guidance for all humanity, the desecration of the Holy Quran has hurt the hearts of more than two billion Muslims, Islam is our red line, there is no other thing for us than the Holy Quran and Prophet Muhammad SAW. This act of desecration of Holy and other sacred books is condemnable.
Islam teaches us respect for humanity, religious harmony, tolerance, brotherhood and spreading love. Today, the occurrence of such events in the world is becoming a source of discord and distance between the Muslim Ummah and other religions. All countries should make strict laws against such actions so that no one dares to desecrate them. We demand from the IC that an effective law be made at the global level regarding the respect of religious scholars, Maulana Azad said that Europe and all Islamic countries including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iraq, Bahrain, Oman, Iran. The courage with which Malaysia and other countries and Pope Francis have condemned the incident in Sweden is admirable.
