Meeting with World Bank Regional Safeguards Coordinators for Environment and Social Development On 18 May,2022 Mr. Asher Nazir, Executive Secretary, Peace Center was invited a meeting by Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Punjab that the World Bank has scheduled with South Asia Regional Safeguard Advisor (RSA) team and E&S Regional Safeguards Coordinators (RSCs) to consider standard safeguards for Environment and Social development for the implementation of development project named; PUNJAB URBAN LAND SYSTEMS ENHANCEMENT PROJECT – PULSE. The core objective of the project is to provide beneficiaries in Punjab province with; Development of cadastral mapping including digital land records of Urban and rural areas of the entire Punjab along with the determination of land titles; Up-gradation of the existing digital land records of rural areas with cadastral maps; and Improved access to State land for development including housing programs. Eighteen civil societies organizations heads and representatives participated in this provincial level meeting as Kashf Foundation, Aurat Foundation, Skirkatgah, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Community Organization for People Empowerment COPE Pakistan, South Asia Partnership Pakistan, Action Against Poverty, Sojhla for Social Change, Christian Farmer’s Development Organization, Caritas Multan, Al Sadiq Desert Welfare, organization, Bahawalpur, Christian Study Center, Punjab Urban Resource Center, Akhuwat Foundation, Democratic Commission for Human Development and Indus law at the head office Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Punjab. Some civil society organizations representatives participated through online video zoom meeting.
